Last week, we organised the first wine-tasting session of the year at Drink at Bob’s and wine enthusiasts and novices gathered for an evening of exquisite flavours, delightful aromas and beautiful memories. Johann, our wine connoisseur, started the evening by introducing himself to some of the regular faces and welcomed the new ones. Our wine-tasting event was meticulously curated to showcase a wide range of fine wines from different parts of the world.
The setting of the venue with its rustic backdrop and soothing music created the perfect ambiance for the event. The tables were set up with delicious cheese platters and snacks to pair with the wine. As the guests mingled and sampled an array of wines, Johann guided them through each tasting, sharing fascinating insights into the origins, characteristics, and nuances of each wine.
The wine-tasting featured all organic and biodynamic wines: Podere Orto ‘Trivium’ Rosso 2018, Phinca Encanto Rufete, Domaine de la Dourbie ‘Mala Coste’ Rouge 2018, Audace, 2012 – Mas Zenitude, Burja Roza 2022, and Clos Lentiscus ‘Gentlemant’ Petillant Naturel Sumoll.
The event wasn’t just about wine; it was about community, connection, and shared passion. As glasses clinked and laughter filled the air, friends bonded by their love for all things wine.
As the evening drew to a close, guests departed with hearts full and palates satisfied, eager to continue their wine journey and explore the endless possibilities that the world of wine has to offer. The evening ended with a short, fun and interactive Q&A session and Johann enlightened the guests with his knowledge of wine in addition to fun anecdotes about each of the bottles.
