Our story

Great produce. Every time.

216–218 Hither Green Lane

We started out as the Good Hope Café on Hither Green Lane in 2010. During lockdown in 2020 we changed our name to Found Hope, and turned our focus to the great produce we'd found.

The idea was simple. Fill a neighbourhood shop with things we love, then share them with the people who live round the corner.

Meet Nick

Nick trained as a commis chef at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire, where at 18 he met his lifelong friend Bill.

In 2000 he moved to London to cook under Marcus Wareing at Pétrus. He went on to work in some of the city's best kitchens: the Savoy Grill, Pétrus again as it won two Michelin stars, La Noisette, Eastside Inn and Michelin-starred Wild Honey. He then led the kitchens at the Gilbert Scott and Ealing Park Tavern.

In 2020 he came full circle, joining Bill as head chef at Found Hope. When Bill decided to sell, Nick saw a legacy worth protecting and bought it himself.

Good Hope was always about more than coffee. When the café opened in 2010, the aim was to train young people and help them into work. Nick wanted to carry that on. He also works with young people with additional needs, and it is part of why we do things the way we do. We don't make a thing of it. The young people we work with are never the story.

Michelin-level cooking. Neighbourhood shop.

Around him, Nick has built a team of passionate, like-minded people who are the heart and soul of Found Hope. They love nothing more than sharing what they know about food and drink with you.
