Who we are
Found Hope is a coffee, food and bottle shop at 216–218 Hither Green Lane, London SE13 6RT. Found Hope is the trading name of Found Hope Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 12025322, with its registered office at the address above. We are responsible for the personal information you give us through this website, by email or in the shop. You can contact us at hello@foundhope.store or on 07861 396311.
What we collect and why
Christmas orders
When you place a Christmas order we ask for your name, email, phone number, collection day and anything else you'd like to tell us. We use this to prepare your order, contact you about it (for example to confirm the final weight and price) and hand it over when you collect.
You pay the deposit on a secure page run by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details and we never see them. Stripe also keeps a copy of your order details with the payment, so we can find it, refund it if you cancel, and keep proper accounts.
If you tell us about an allergy or dietary need, we only use it to prepare your order safely. Please only share what we need to know.
Why we're allowed to: to carry out the order you asked us for, and to meet our legal duty to keep financial records.
Emails and phone calls
If you email or call us, we use your details to reply. Our email is provided by Google Workspace.
Why we're allowed to: our legitimate interest in answering you.
Our newsletter
If you sign up to our mailing list, we use your name and email address to send you news from the shop, such as Christmas orders opening, events and new things on the shelves. Our mailing list is run by Mailchimp. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just email us to be taken off.
Why we're allowed to: you've asked us to (consent). You can withdraw it at any time.
Visiting the website
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information, like your IP address, to deliver pages and keep the site secure. If you say yes to analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages are popular. It doesn't tell us who you are. The map on our Visit page is from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when the map loads.
Why we're allowed to: our legitimate interest in running a secure website, and your consent for analytics.
Event tickets
When you buy tickets to an event we ask for your name, email and phone number on Stripe's payment page. We use them to confirm your booking, let you know if anything changes and check your name at the door. Stripe keeps the booking details with the payment, so we can find it, refund it if we need to, and keep proper accounts.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it with the services that help us run the shop:
- Stripe: deposit and ticket payments, and order details
- Google: email (Google Workspace) and, if you agree, website analytics (Google Analytics)
- Mailchimp: our newsletter, if you sign up
- Cloudflare: hosting our website
Some of these companies store data outside the UK, mainly in the US. When they do, they use the safeguards UK data protection law requires. We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Orders and payments: as long as the law requires for tax and accounting records, usually six years.
- Emails: as long as we need them to deal with what you asked, then we delete them.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics: Google Analytics keeps data for up to 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and send you a copy
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law
- stop using it, or limit how we use it
- stop sending you marketing emails

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves on your device. We keep them to a minimum.

You can change your mind about analytics at any time with the link, which is also at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
